Half a Million Celebration

Lifeline Vascular Access celebrates half a million patient encounters

Vernon Hills, Illinois. 10/26/11 – It is approximately the number of miles to the moon and back. But it’s a decidedly more earth-bound and meaningful milestone.

Lifeline Vascular Access has reached 500,000 patient encounters in its 65 access centers throughout the country, and is celebrating with a “Thanks a Half Million” patient-driven campaign that will be on display during the American Society of Nephrology “Kidney Week” in Philadelphia, PA, Nov. 8-13.

The “Thanks a Half Million” campaign is personal; encouraging staff and patients who receive treatment at Lifeline managed centers to express themselves – with a photo, a drawing, a sentiment, or a simple signature on a sticky note – these expressions to be showcased at the Lifeline Vascular Access conference exhibit (booth #2101) at the ASN Annual Convention.

“We are thrilled by the energy, enthusiasm, and wonderful personal care given to patients by the doctors and staff at our centers leading to this important Lifeline milestone,” said Rich Nee, General Manager at Lifeline. “They are crucial members of our Lifeline care model and we gratefully acknowledge their high degree of professionalism, motivation, and unparalleled personal service that have earned the trust and confidence of the patients.”

Each Lifeline center was provided with a large poster upon which patients could write their life-affirming feelings about the care they receive. They also had the option of writing a few words on a sticky note, providing a personal photograph or another creation as a testament to their role in being a part of 500,000 patient encounters. A portion of the nationally collected artwork will become part of the booth display during ASN’s Kidney Week, where more than 13,000 kidney professionals from around the globe will come together to exchange knowledge and learn the latest scientific and medical advances.

The display is meant to be a personal statement about the human lives affected by what happens every day in Lifeline managed centers. Patients are able to achieve increased vigor, happiness and high quality of life through proper care – which has happened more than half a million times at the growing number of Lifeline Vascular Access managed centers nationwide.

“Every day, we look forward to providing outstanding service to all of the patients who have entrusted their care to our teams at Lifeline centers,” Nee said. “We’re already excited about reaching toward our next goal of one million patient encounters.”

A million patient encounters. That comes out to roughly two round trips to the moon – a statistic that Nee believes is firmly within Lifeline’s reach.
