Re-Accreditation Earned from Joint Commission

Nine years of continual Joint Commission accreditation demonstrates commitment to rigorous operational standards and patient well-being

Vernon Hills, Illinois. 5/10/12 – Lifeline Vascular Access, the nation’s premier provider of vascular access management services, announced today that it has earned system-wide accreditation by The Joint Commission for the third time, extending its string of fully accredited service to the vascular access industry to nine continuous years. Awarded its first accreditation in 2006, Lifeline Vascular Access received the nationally recognized Gold Seal of ApprovalTM, which reflects a commitment to quality healthcare performance standards and patient safety.
The Joint Commission accredits a broad range of healthcare facilities, including health systems, office-based practices, ambulatory care facilities and hospitals.

Lifeline Vascular Access Vice President and General Manager Richard Nee noted that “the survey process was a demanding one, as it should be, and we’re pleased by the outcome. Accreditation continues to make a strong statement about a center’s commitment to patient care and safety, and we’re especially proud of the physicians and clinical staff who make the well-being of patients their top priority every day.”

All sixty-six facilities in the Lifeline Vascular Access system were subject to The Joint Commission survey. Twenty-four facilities participated in a rigorous on-site evaluation of compliance across 150 standards designed to promote quality care and patient safety, and the centers passed with flying colors. This marked the third series of such visits from The Joint Commission since all Lifeline centers were initially accredited six years ago.

Aris Urbanes, MD, Vice President of Provider Relations, said, “The Joint Commission insists on a very high standard for center operations and their accreditation process has once again validated our efforts in these areas. Our goal has always been to provide unparalleled patient care, and we’re gratified that The Joint Commission has, for the third time, acknowledged the safety and quality of Lifeline Vascular Access-managed centers.”
